Highgate, a leading real estate investment and hospitality management company, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor at the Courtyard Topeka, located at 2033 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS 66604.

Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assuming all Housekeeping Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect Room Attendant's work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity are met.
2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
3. Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and restocked.
4. Complete and submit daily assignment records timely.
5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items per standards.
6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
7. Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants.
8. Maintain communication with the Front Office and Engineering via pager/radio.
9. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
10. Initiate and follow up on work orders for repairs and maintenance.
11. Assist in training housekeeping staff.
12. May need to clean rooms when necessary.
13. Ensure completion of biannual cleaning projects.
14. Focus on overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
• 2-3 years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and guests.
