Job summary

DoubleTree Newark Airport is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the daily housekeeping operations and uphold our cleanliness and safety standards. You will work closely with the Director of Housekeeping to maximize guest satisfaction and protect hotel assets.

You will supervise and motivate the team, inspect rooms and public areas, assign schedules, manage supplies, and respond promptly to guest needs while maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.

Description

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring a safe work environment, exceptional cleanliness standards, and outstanding guest service. This role works closely with the Executive Housekeeper to maximize guest satisfaction, protect hotel assets, and support efficient departmental operations.

Reports To: Director of Housekeeping

What You'll Do

• Supervise, motivate, coach, and support the housekeeping team to ensure exceptional performance and productivity.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and turndown service to ensure hotel cleanliness and brand standards are consistently met.
• Assign daily work schedules, communicate priorities, and coordinate special guest requests to ensure seamless operations.
• Issue and monitor housekeeping supplies and equipment while maintaining inventory control and minimizing waste.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities.
• Maintain accurate Lost & Found records and assist guests with inquiries regarding misplaced items.
• Support emergency preparedness by implementing safety procedures and ensuring team compliance with hotel policies.
• Promote a safe, positive, and respectful work environment while adhering to all health, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as business demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the housekeeping department and overall hotel operations.
