Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in New Orleans seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel areas meet the highest cleanliness and presentation standards.

You will oversee team members, conduct inspections, manage room readiness, and coordinate with Front Office and Engineering to deliver seamless guest experiences. Strong leadership and organization are essential in this fast-paced, guest-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, suites, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Supervise, support, and guide housekeeping team members to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and guest service standards.
• Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and operational areas to ensure brand standards and cleanliness.
• Monitor room readiness, housekeeping productivity, operational flow, and guest satisfaction.
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest requests, operational concerns, and service recovery situations.
• Partner with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and leadership teams to support seamless operations.
• Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and communication for staff.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards, OSHA regulations, chemical handling, and safety policies.
• Maintain closets, storage areas, supplies, linens, and equipment.
• Support VIP arrivals, group business, deep cleaning projects, and special assignments.

What you’ll be doing

• Support daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, suites, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Supervise, support, and guide housekeeping team members to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and guest service standards are consistently maintained.
• Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and operational areas to ensure hotel brand standards and cleanliness expectations are met.
• Monitor room readiness, housekeeping productivity, operational flow, and guest satisfaction throughout shifts.
• Respond quickly and professionally to guest requests, operational concerns, and service recovery situations.
• Partner closely with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and hotel leadership teams to support seamless hotel operations and guest experiences.
• Assist with onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and operational communication for housekeeping team members.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards, OSHA regulations, chemical handling procedures, hotel safety policies, and operational guidelines.
• Maintain housekeeping closets, storage areas, supplies, linens, and operational equipment in clean and organized condition.
• Support VIP arrivals, group business, deep cleaning projects, room inspections, and special operational assignments as needed.
• Help foster a positive, collaborative, and guest-focused environment aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

• Previous housekeeping, hotel, hospitality, cleaning, laundry, or facilities experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience within hospitality or housekeeping operations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, room inspection standards, cleaning procedures, and hospitality service expectations.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, OSHA regulations, chemical handling standards, and hotel safety guidelines preferred.
• Positive, dependable, and service-focused leadership approach.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support as needed.
