Job summary

Island Hospitality is seeking a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations and uphold guest room quality. You will model service standards, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure a clean, well-maintained environment across guest spaces.

The role requires flexible scheduling, strong communication, and a proactive approach to prevent issues and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic housekeeping duties: change sheets, towels, restock supplies, vacuum, dust, and clean rooms.
  • Inspect rooms and public spaces daily to meet brand and IHM standards.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on service standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and front desk to prepare rooms for check-in.

Description

We are looking to add a hands‑on Housekeeping Supervisor to our team. Being a successful Housekeeping Supervisor takes a blend of custodial knowledge and management capabilities. You must take personal accountability for the cleanliness of each guest room and set a good example for your team. Excellent communication skills are essential to being successful in this role as you will be working with multiple departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and arranging the towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging the room after
  • guests check out
  • Deliver linens to the laundry department
  • Inspect rooms and public spaces daily to ensure all rooms are cared for according to brand and IHM standards
  • Train new housekeeping staff to ensure they know all components/features of our guest service guarantee and are trained to meet service standards
  • Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replaces on housekeeping cart when needed
  • Notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, and/or disturbances
  • Communicate with maintenance team regarding any maintenance requests reported by housekeeping team members
  • Communicate with front desk team regarding rooms that are ready for new arrivals to check-in

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
