Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate the performance of all Housekeeping staff.
  • Orient new staff and provide ongoing training on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, safety procedures (including OSHA/MSDS), and infection control protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain daily and deep-cleaning schedules for all areas, including resident rooms, common areas, dining rooms, clinical spaces, and administrative offices.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met. Provide coaching and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Serve as a key member of the Infection Control Committee. Ensure all housekeeping procedures strictly adhere to established infection control and universal precautions practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the department operates in compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., CMS, state DPH). Participate in facility surveys (inspections) and assist in developing and implementing plans of correction for any deficiencies.
