Job summary

Homewood Mountain Resort, located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join the Facilities Department. The role oversees daily housekeeping operations, provides training, and ensures exceptional cleanliness and presentation across club and resort facilities.

You will lead a team, coordinate with other departments, and maintain safety and quality standards in a luxury hospitality environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years of housekeeping, facilities, hospitality, or related supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in luxury hospitality, private club, resort, hotel, or high-end residential environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership to motivate, train, develop, and hold team members accountable.
  • Ability to establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, chemical handling procedures, and OSHA standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with members, guests, vendors, and team.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make operational decisions.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems, scheduling platforms, inspection reports, and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including staff assignments and training.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop housekeeping team members to uphold service excellence.
  • Conduct daily inspections of public areas, restrooms, offices, locker rooms, employee spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Monitor quality and productivity and provide coaching and corrective action.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and timekeeping for housekeeping staff.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to ensure staffing, supplies, equipment readiness, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and organizing housekeeping supplies and cleaning products.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment and chemicals per safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support daily operations, member activities, events, and resort-wide initiatives.
  • Oversee routine and deep cleaning programs, seasonal cleaning projects, event setup and breakdown, and special assignments.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance, safety, and operational concerns.
  • Maintain organized housekeeping storage rooms, supply areas, linen inventories, and laundry operations.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in housekeeping duties and supporting the team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain Resort, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood Mountain Resort is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join the Facilities Department.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping team while ensuring exceptional cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout the club and resort facilities. This position provides direct supervision, training, scheduling support, quality assurance, and day-to-day leadership for housekeeping personnel. The Housekeeping Supervisor partners closely with Facilities, Residential and Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Events, Outdoor Pursuits, and other operational departments to ensure all member, guest, employee, and event spaces consistently meet Discovery Land Company standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who leads by example, takes pride in developing team members, and maintains the highest levels of accountability, safety, service, and attention to detail in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including staff assignments, workflow planning, training, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop housekeeping team members while promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Conduct daily inspections of public areas, restrooms, offices, locker rooms, employee spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor quality and productivity standards and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and timekeeping for housekeeping staff.
  • Coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to ensure adequate staffing, supplies, equipment readiness, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing housekeeping supplies and cleaning products.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment, chemicals, and supplies in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to support daily operations, member activities, special events, and resort-wide initiatives.
  • Oversee routine and deep cleaning programs, seasonal cleaning projects, event setup and breakdown, and special assignments.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance, safety, and operational concerns to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.
  • Maintain organized housekeeping storage rooms, supply areas, linen inventories, and laundry operations.
  • Complete inspections, departmental records, checklists, and reporting as required.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in housekeeping duties and supporting the team as operational needs require.
  • Other duties as assigned.
