Job summary

Homewood Mountain Resort is seeking a Housekeeper to join the Facilities Maintenance Department. The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the resort, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with hygiene standards.

This full-time position offers an hourly wage of $21-$27, along with medical benefits and paid time off. Candidates should have experience in professional cleaning and a strong work ethic to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain Resort, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a Housekeeper to join the Facilities Maintenance Department.

The Housekeeper plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of all the interior and exterior spaces of the club. This position provides day‑to‑day support to club operations, including food & beverage, events, maintenance, fitness, and other operational departments. The housekeeper ensures that all public spaces, back‑of‑house areas, amenities, and event spaces always meet the club’s standards of excellence. The role requires a strong diligence, an elevated level of professionalism, and consistent execution of duties with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain pristine condition of windows and high touch surfaces.
  • Remove trash and recycling; replace liners; transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Clean and maintain furniture, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition and free of damage or stains.
  • Perform spot‑cleaning of carpets, walls, glass, doors, and furniture throughout the shift.
  • Respond promptly to any requests for immediate cleaning needs or special projects.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues immediately, including lighting, plumbing, flooring, fixtures, and safety hazards.
  • Perform minor tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening screws, or adjusting furniture.
  • Support pressure washing, polishing floors, deep‑cleaning projects, and seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with event set‑up and breakdown, including tables, chairs, and linen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces before, during and after functions.
  • Transport linens, supplies, and equipment between departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping closets/storage and ensure supplies are stocked.
  • Assist with laundry (washing, drying, folding, stocking).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in professional cleaning or housekeeping, preferably in a high‑end residential or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and best practices for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to apply them in the workplace.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards across all areas.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting performance expectations.
  • Demonstrated reliability, diligence, and strong work ethic in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond to immediate needs.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
