Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor

Working alongside the Housekeeping Manager and Room Attendants, the Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring every guest room meets the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hospitality before guest arrival. This position assists with the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department by supporting staff, inspecting guest rooms, coordinating with other departments, and helping maintain an efficient and organized work environment.

The Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor helps train and coach Room Attendants, delegates tasks, addresses guest requests, and follows up on maintenance or cleanliness concerns to ensure guest satisfaction. This position also serves as a resource for the housekeeping team and may oversee department operations in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Housekeeping Manager with the daily operation of the housekeeping department.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and brand standards are consistently met.
• Assist with assigning daily housekeeping responsibilities and monitoring productivity.
• Train, coach, and support Room Attendants to ensure quality and efficiency standards are achieved.
• Greet guests professionally and respond promptly to questions, requests, and concerns.
• Coordinate with Front Desk and Maintenance regarding room status, repairs, and out-of-order rooms.
• Maintain housekeeping inventories and ensure supplies are adequately stocked.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing needs in coordination with the Housekeeping Manager.
• Ensure lost and found items are properly documented, secured, and shipped in a timely manner.
• Monitor room status updates and communicate changes to the appropriate departments.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and technical issues promptly.
• Assist with quality assurance inspections and implement corrective action when necessary.
• Demonstrate strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Promote a positive team environment while providing support, guidance, and leadership to the housekeeping staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned and assist in leading the department in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
