Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners in Gulf Shores is seeking a dynamic Housekeeping Manager to supervise all hotel housekeeping activities, ensure top cleanliness, and protect guest satisfaction and assets.

Under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper, you will train staff, coordinate with maintenance and front desk, and conduct regular quality audits to uphold service excellence.

The role requires leadership, weekend/holiday availability, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced beach setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Rooms Management or a related management position.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Strong leadership qualities, the ability to motivate staff, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed by the business.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards.
• Train and supervise housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and guest service standards.
• Address and resolve guest complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
• Assist in inventory management and maintain supplies to ensure materials are available.
• Collaborate with maintenance and front desk to ensure rooms are ready for guests and operations run smoothly.
• Conduct regular audits/spot checks to ensure quality control across housekeeping staff.

POSITION PROFILE :

Under the leadership of the Executive Housekeeper or the Director of Housekeeping, you are to provide supervision and direction for all housekeeping activities of the hotel in a safe and efficient manner; ensuring the highest level of cleanliness; and maintaining guest satisfaction while protecting the assets and minimize expenses.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

• Conduct Inspections: Regularly inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to ensure they meet cleanliness and safety standards. Document and report any issues or deficiencies to the appropriate department.


• Staff Training and Supervision: Train and supervise housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and guest service standards.


• Guest Interaction: Address and resolve guest complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.


• Inventory Management: Assist in management of cleaning supplies and maintain inventory levels to ensure all necessary materials are available.


• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as maintenance and front desk, to ensure rooms are ready for guests and to facilitate smooth operations.


• Quality Control: Conduct regular audits and spot checks to ensure quality control and consistency among housekeeping staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
