Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for administering and coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections, as well as assuming all Housekeeping Manager functions in his/her absence.

Responsibilities

  1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section daily to ensure standards and productivity levels are met.
  2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their availability to the Front Office.
  3. Oversee the closing of floors at day's end, ensuring carts are clean and restocked.
  4. Complete, sign, and submit daily assignment records timely.
  5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items per standards.
  6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and common areas.
  7. Oversee daily duty assignments for staff.
  8. Carry a pager/radio for communication with Front Office and Engineering.
  9. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager.
  10. Initiate and follow up on repair work orders.
  11. Assist in training staff and may be required to clean rooms as needed.
  12. Ensure completion of biannual cleaning projects.
  13. Promote overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
  2. 2-3 years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
  3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Ability to stand throughout the shift.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills in a courteous, service-oriented manner.
