Job summary

St. Sophia Health & Rehab in Florissant, MO is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a team that keeps residents’ living areas clean and welcoming in a long-term care setting.

You will schedule, train, and supervise staff while participating in routine environmental tasks. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of supervisory experience preferred, strong English communication, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and schedule a team responsible for cleaning and maintaining a comfortable resident environment.
• Direct, train, and lead staff in floor care, dusting, trash removal, carpet care, and surface disinfection.
• Launder linens, prepare bedding, and manage room cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions of Housekeeping Supervisor:

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee and schedule a team responsible for creating a clean and comforting home for residents in long-term care. In addition to directing, training, and leading the team, the Supervisor will also participate in environmental functions including:

• Sweeping, mopping, and other floor care including spill clean up and regular maintenance.

• Dusting and general pick-up of common areas.

• Washing windows

• Trash collection

• Shampoo and vacuum carpets.

• Arrange furniture and disinfect surfaces.

• Launder linens for residents.

• Prepare bedding.

• Generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware

• Other duties as assigned

Qualificationsof Housekeeping Supervisor:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required

• Prior experience in a supervisor capacity scheduling, training, and leading teams in supporting housekeeping responsibilities is preferred.

• 1 year of experience is preferred

• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, patient families and any outside customer

• You may frequently be required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
