Job summary

Shamin Hotels is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor in Chester, VA, to lead housekeeping tasks and ensure guest rooms and public areas meet high cleanliness standards. You will assign tasks, inspect rooms, and train staff to deliver outstanding service.

The role requires teamwork, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to guest satisfaction. This is a full-time, on-site position with flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspect all assigned rooms and public areas for cleanliness and condition.
• Provide objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality.
• Ensure associates have supplies, equipment, and uniforms including PPE.
• Train associates on safety standards and enforce them.
• Complete accident investigations and prevent recurrence.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed (beds, vacuuming, cleaning).
• Monitor room statuses and update discrepancies during shift.
• Handle opening and closing shift duties.
• Move heavy furniture and notify maintenance for repairs.
• Monitor overall hotel cleanliness including exterior areas.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the standards of cleanliness are met. They assign tasks, inspect work to ensure it's up to standard, and provide training on how to best handle customers' requests.

Essential Job Functions

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspects all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Provide efficient and objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality within the housekeeping department
• Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms including nametags and designated PPE.
• Trains associates on safety standards and enforces those standards consistently. Identifies associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retaining them appropriately.
• Completes accident investigations and takes steps to prevent future accidents
• Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning
• Verifies and updates the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Moves Heavy Furniture
• Notifies maintenance department of maintenance repairs necessary
• Monitor cleanliness of hotels including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Other duties as assigned
