Job Title: Housekeeping Specialist

Department: Housekeeping

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for cleaning and maintaining campus facilities to departmental standards, ensuring a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and orderly environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests. The role may include additional maintenance and grounds tasks as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1-2 Years of professional experience in the industry or related field (preferred)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors, hallways, and stairways using approved cleaning products
• Strip, wax, seal, and buff various floor surfaces
• Maintain clean and sanitary conditions across campus
• Respond to after-hours/weekend emergency calls and perform snow removal
• Use supplies economically and appropriately
• Collaborate with team members to maximize efficiency and morale
• Clean public areas including restrooms, hallways, and lobbies
• Clean walls, floors, ceilings, fixtures, and furniture as needed
• Empty trash containers in public areas inside and outside
• Clean dorm rooms based on operational needs
• Participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion activities, supporting the university's mission and demonstrating personal faith in Jesus Christ as active in a local church

Required Skills and Abilities

• Self-starter capable of working independently and in teams
• Basic computer skills including email, calendar, and work order systems
• Proactive with a sense of urgency in completing requests
• Positive attitude and commitment to customer service
• Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform manual labor
• Reliable and consistent work schedule
