Housekeeping Lead

The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for the day-to-day personnel management of the cleaning staff. This is an on-site role combined with office time. The Housekeeping Manager oversees the organization of daily cleaning operations and performs hands-on tasks, including filling in for staff when needed.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Demonstrates leadership abilities
• Ability to train staff on policies and responsibilities
• Problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and tools, with ability to teach staff
• Ability to identify hazards and report to management
• Ability to motivate staff to provide quality service
• Attention to detail and ability to follow client directions concisely

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure operational and safety procedures are followed
• Establish schedules and assign daily tasks
• Manage customer complaints and investigate issues
• Inspect and approve staff work performance
• Ensure cleaning meets contract specifications
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Maintain department budget and report on expenditures
• Provide training and coaching to staff and manage work hours
• Arrange maintenance of cleaning equipment
• Handle administrative tasks and paperwork
• Produce order forms for equipment and materials
• Stay informed on developments in cleaning technology and materials
• Strive for continual improvement of the organization

Working Conditions

This role involves standing for long periods, effective communication, and manual tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and travel to different locations may be required. The environment has moderate noise levels.
