Overview

The Room Inspector is responsible for the performance of assigned room and house attendants, ensuring that all procedures are completed to the standards of the hotel. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests.

Hourly Rate: $28.50

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Verify room status on ALICE; report discrepant rooms; prioritize and update status of check-out rooms.
2. Inspect supply levels, cleanliness, and organization of floor closets; assign staff to rectify issues.
3. Check room attendant’s closet for supplies, neatness, cleanliness, or mechanical problems.
4. Inspect rooms cleaned by assigned attendants using ALICE to ensure standards are met; follow up as needed.
5. Check vacant rooms, verify status, and update discrepant room statuses throughout the shift; check DNR rooms for status.
6. Mark dirty sheets of randomly selected rooms and follow up to ensure attendants have changed sheets.
7. Accommodate guest requests for housekeeping items or supplies promptly and courteously; follow up on delivery and return.
8. Monitor and handle guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
9. Document pertinent information in the departmental log book.
10. Complete all paperwork and closing duties; review assignments and follow-up actions.
11. Check PM reports for accuracy and completeness; perform night counts per departmental standards.

Secondary Job Functions:

• Assist in other Housekeeping areas as assigned and attend meetings.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Room Attendant. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safe chemical handling. Proficient in English communication. Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, courtesy, and minimal supervision. Ability to maintain hotel standards, prioritize tasks, and oversee staff performance.

Physical Abilities:

• Ability to endure physical movements in work areas. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull heavy loads, including linen bundles up to 50 lbs.
