Job Title: Housekeeping Room Attendant

Objective

The objective of the Housekeeping Room Attendant is to maintain a high level of cleanliness in guest rooms and replenish guest amenities according to standards. All assigned guest rooms must be cleaned within the time specified by the housekeeping department.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals as trained. Do not mix chemicals or use them straight from the bottle. Follow safety measures. Gloves are available in the housekeeping department.
• Be aware of bloodborne pathogen procedures and contact your supervisor when needed.
• Clean guest bathrooms with appropriate chemicals and hot water. Disinfect all surfaces properly.
• Place all dirty linen in the linen bag on the cart. Do not leave trash or glasses on the floor in hallways.
• Keep the work area neat and clean at all times. Clean carts at the end of each day.
• Remove room service trays from guest rooms and place them outside the door neatly.
• Bring lost and found items to the housekeeping office with room number and date. Valuable items should be handed directly to a supervisor for secure storage.
• Report any maintenance issues in guest rooms to your supervisor.
• Perform any other tasks related to guest room cleaning.
• Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude towards guests at all times.

Additional Standards

Bed linens must be changed according to standards set by the housekeeping department. Vacant and dirty rooms must have linens changed daily. Linen changes in occupied rooms occur every third day unless otherwise specified or if stains are noticed. Linen must also be changed on rollaway beds and cribs as needed.
