Job summary

Waterford Hotel Group is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead daily housekeeping operations in our Windsor, CT hotel. You will supervise staff, manage training, and ensure adherence to brand standards and cleanliness objectives.

The role requires a hands-on manager with prior supervisory experience in a hotel setting, plus the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. Health benefits and career growth are highlighted in the offerings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with the daily operations, assisting Housekeeping Associates in cleaning guest rooms as well as public areas.
• The ideal candidate will have been a Housekeeping Manager and/or Supervisor in a similar hotel for at least 1 year of service.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Organize, supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff on day- to day basis.
• Ensure excellence in housekeeping sanitation, safety, comfort and aesthetics for hotel guests.
• Prepare duty rosters and supervise the discipline and conduct of her staff.
• Ensure proper communication within the department by conducting regular meeting with the staff.
• Recruit new employees and train them for the housekeeping jobs.
• Counsel and motivate employees on various duties.
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for cleaning and develop new procedures to increase efficiency of labor and product use.
• Search and test new techniques and products in the market.
• Maintain regular inventory and checking of furniture, linen, uniform, equipments in the hotel.
• Evaluate employee performance for promotions and transfers.
• Approval of supply requisitions for the housekeeping and to maintain minimum stock and cost control procedures for all materials.
• Check the reports, files, registers maintained in the department.
• Provide budget to the management and control of budgets

What You Will Be Doing

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping functions for the hotel including: effectively leading and motivating associates, departmental training/development, budgeting, scheduling, and inventories, as well as strict adherence to all brand and Waterford Hotel Group cleanliness/service standards.
