Job Description

The Housekeeping Manager at TWA Hotel will be responsible for assisting in managing the housekeeping functions and staff daily to ensure guest rooms, public space, and team member areas are clean and well maintained. This person will inspect areas of responsibilities and follow up with a plan for improving results. Furthermore, this role strives to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. The ideal candidate for this role would be highly detail oriented and meticulous with a strong ability to connect and engage with team members and guests alike.

Responsibilities:

  1. Verify that guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Utilize a list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  3. Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  4. Supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space.
  5. Understand the impact of department’s operations on the overall hotel success.
  6. Verify all team members have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  7. Communicate areas that need attention to staff and follows up to ensure completion.
  8. Participate in departmental meetings and continually communicate a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
  9. Use all available on the job training tools to train new Room Attendants and provide follow-up training as needed.
  10. Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members.
  11. Participate in scheduling team members to business demands and tracking team members time and attendance.
  12. Verify team members understand expectations and parameters.
  13. Administer property policies fairly and consistently; disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
  14. Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest housekeeping, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
  15. Observe behaviors of team members and provide feedback to individuals.
  16. Participate in an on-going team member recognition program.
  17. Solicit team member feedback, utilize an “open door” policy, and review team member satisfaction results to identify and address problems or concerns.
  18. Participate in the development and implementation of corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction.
  19. Emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.
  20. Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 2 years’ experience in hotel housekeeping or related field.
  3. Effective communication both verbally and written.
  4. Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns from team and guests.
  5. Experience working in a labor organized environment preferred.
  6. Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  8. Excellent time management.
  9. A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach.
  10. A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel.
