JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to live and work in a close community to serve in the much-needed role of Housekeeping Manager. COMMUNITY
The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 120 people who live on-site year-round, comprised of full-time staff, families, and seasonal staff. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources, but it calls for a somewhat remote living.

Title: Housekeeping Manager
Department: Guest Services
Reports To: Director of Guest Services

Job Purpose: As the Manager of the Housekeeping department at Glorieta Adventure Camps, you will work toward fulfilling our mission and giving guests a great experience by maintaining the cleanliness of all buildings and upholding, creating, and organizing systems that foster an enjoyable and efficient cleaning process. This includes managing the various types of staff who assist in housekeeping duties.

Overall Responsibility
Uphold established standards of cleanliness in all guest spaces and manage staff to uphold the same standards
Hire and train full-time staff to grow the Housekeeping team
Take chief responsibility for the inventory, ordering, and management of all cleaning supplies and linens for guest rooms and meeting rooms
Keep the SDS for housekeeping chemicals updated
Keep cleaning and servicing checklists updated and make cleaning assignments
Coordinate maintenance repairs and pest control for inside the buildings
Schedule team shifts, team 1:1s, summer staff training, deep cleaning
Take chief responsibility for the laundry room and coordinate linen pickup/drop off
Coordinate the creation and update of the Housekeeping App
Keep up with logistics and make requests based on needs
Budget forecasting and managing spending through Expensify and Bill.com
Collect and document bids for outside services
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.

Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The “ideal” candidate will have:
Ability to communicate well with team members, staff, and guests
Ability to manage peers, full-time staff, and summer staff in a positive and respectful way when they are helping to clean under your supervision
Have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, typing, basic math, basic computer functions, organization, and be detailed oriented
A strong desire to learn new things quickly
A strong sense of self-motivation
A personal relationship with Christ that permeates all aspects of his/her life
Previous experience in any of the duties listed is preferred
Good work ethic
Willingness to perform routine tasks regularly and on time, with deadlines weekly and monthly for most tasks
Have a natural ability or strong desire for organization
Willingness to perform many tasks alone
An eye for things that need done and how to make them more excellent
Passion for cleaning, problem-solving, fixing things, making things beautiful, leading by serving, stewardship

Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location at Glorieta, New Mexico.
Travel: Possible infrequent travel to workshop training.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in office, hike, stand all day, bend, squat, be on hands and knees cleaning, climb stairs, be around strong cleaning chemicals on a daily basis, and be willing to get your hands dirty.
Work Environment: Most work will be done throughout campus, including indoors and outdoors. This may include working in inclement weather conditions throughout the year.
Training: Guest Services employees will be given opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.
Compensation: Hourly pay including overtime, onsite housing, medical sharing benefit at $0 to employee, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
