Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Full-Time Material Linen Technician to manage linens and equipment across the facility. You will receive, stock, issue, transport, and count linens, while supporting inventory control and maintaining sanitary conditions.

The role requires professionalism, adherence to privacy protocols, and the ability to coordinate with other departments. Prior linen operations and healthcare experience, plus MS Office proficiency, are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens and equipment across the department and outlying buildings.
• Performs daily counts of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control.
• Maintains sanitary conditions within the department.
• Fills phone requests in a timely manner.
• Operates scrub machines using computer-generated pick lists.
• Respects patient and parent privacy when entering patient rooms.
• Collects soiled linen according to procedures to prevent cross contamination.
• Maintains professional and courteous conduct at all times.
• Ensures sanitation and cleanliness; trash and boxes are emptied daily.
• Fill in to support other Support Services areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency.

Summary

The Material Linen Technician receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens, and equipment. Performs daily count of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control and maintains sanitary conditions within the Department.

Responsibilities

• 1. Receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens, and equipment which includes ancillary and outlying buildings
• 2. Performs daily count of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control and maintains sanitary conditions within the Department.
• 3. Ancillary areas are supplied with linen by maintaining established par levels.
• 4. All phone requests must be filled in a timely manner.
• 5. Scrub machines must be filled and serviced with the use of computer-generated pick list.
• 6. Requires entry into patient rooms and respect to patient and parent privacy.
• 7. Must collect soiled linen according to set procedures to prevent cross contamination.
• 8. Must conduct themselves in professional and courteous manner at all times.
• 9. Maintains sanitary conditions within the department. Trash and boxes are emptied and floor swept daily.
• 10. Fill in to support other Support Services areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
