Job summary

Florence Home in Omaha, NE seeks a Lead Housekeeping/Laundry to oversee housekeeping and laundry services for our care community and mentor the team. You will adjust assignments, interview and hire staff, train on processes and safety, and ensure areas are clean and presentable for residents and families.

Strong customer service and English literacy required; supervisory experience preferred. This role is on-site and vital to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, laundry, or janitorial experience is required.
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong focus on customer service and rapport with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Responsibilities

• Adjust teamwork assignments as needed to meet priorities of the Care Community.

• Provide quality housekeeping and laundry services.
• Clean assigned areas of the building including emptying trash, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, dusting, etc.

• Train new laundry and housekeeping employees on processes, chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Approve time in payroll system.

LEAD HOUSEKEEPING/LAUNDRY

Join our team and make a positive difference every day! The Lead is responsible for providing housekeeping services for assigned areas of our Care Community and providing training and oversight for other members of the housekeeping and laundry team.

Duties Include:

• Adjust teamwork assignments as needed to meet priorities of the Care Community
• Interview and hire housekeeping/laundry staff
• Provide quality housekeeping and laundry services
• Clean assigned areas of the building including emptying trash, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, dusting, etc.
• Inspect work of housekeeping/laundry staff on a daily basis to ensure quality standards are being met and building is clean and presentable for our residents, their families, staff, and visitors.
• Train new laundry and housekeeping employees on processes, appropriate use of chemicals and equipment, and safety procedures
• Approve time in payroll system

Qualifications:

• Previous housekeeping, laundry, or janitorial experience is required
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong focus on customer service and the ability to establish rapport with housekeeping/laundry team, other staff, residents, and family members
• Ability to effectively organize own work as well as work of team so desired results are achieved.
