Job summary

Commonwealth Lodging Management LL is seeking a Laundry Attendant to process hotel and guest laundry, including pressing, sorting and folding. You will operate commercial equipment, log operations, and assist with cleaning and stocking the laundry area as needed.

The role requires physical stamina, adherence to safety protocols, and a cooperative attitude to support housekeeping operations 24/7 in a hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or work equivalent).
• Computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Good understanding of English language and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment handling; chemical handling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive guest relations and guest confidentiality.
• Sort linens, towels and clothing by color, size, and material.
• Operate and monitor commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Stock and organize laundry supplies; assist with front desk requests as needed.

POSITION: Laundry AttendantDEPARTMENT: HousekeepingSUPERVISOR: Housekeeping Inspector/Housekeeping Supervisor/Assistant Executive Housekeeper/Executive Housekeeper/Assistant General Manager/General ManagerPOSITION OVERVIEW: The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing hotel and guest laundry, including pressing, sorting and folding. Laundry Attendants use commercial pressing and folding equipment and are responsible for programming and logging of their operations. Duties may include ironing sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths, folding towels, sorting soiled linen, loading dryers and distributing linen to various storage areas within the hotel. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 25 pounds.Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds.Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.Work environment – front office, and all areas of the hotel. The job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings.Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.Work environment – Guest Rooms, Guest and Service Corridors, Housekeeping Office.
