Job Location: Courtyard by Marriott Oxford, MS – Oxford, MS 38655. Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.00 Hourly. Position: Laundry Attendant. Department: Housekeeping. Supervisor: Housekeeping Inspector/Housekeeping Supervisor/Assistant Executive Housekeeper/Executive Housekeeper/Assistant General Manager/General Manager.

Position Overview

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing hotel and guest laundry, including pressing, sorting, and folding. Laundry Attendants use commercial pressing and folding equipment and are responsible for programming and logging of their operations. Duties may include ironing sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths, folding towels, sorting soiled linen, loading dryers, and distributing linen to various storage areas within the hotel. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty‑four (24) hours a day.

Physical Requirements

• Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 25 pounds.
• Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds.
• Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
• Work under variable temperature and noise levels in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Stand and exert well‑paced mobility for lengthy periods.
• Reach above head and shoulder height to perform job duties.
• Work around fumes, odor hazards, dust/mite hazards, biohazards and chemicals.

Job Responsibilities

• Always maintain positive guest relations and guest confidentiality.
• Work to resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
• Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Assist with delivery of front desk requests as needed (rollaways, cribs, towels, etc.).
• Assist with keeping storage rooms stocked.
• Monitor pool and fitness area; remove dirty towels and re‑stock if needed.
• Sort linens, towels, clothing, and other laundry items by color, size, and material.
• Wrap laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests.
• Wash items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols.
• Clean and maintain laundry room area and equipment.
• Unload laundry from commercial dryers.
• Stock laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags, and fabric softener.
• Assist in handling emergencies to protect guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems; act quickly and responsibly to return the building to normal operating status.
• Maintain knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, and scheduled daily group activities.
• Be familiar with all local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Be responsible for knowing and abiding by all departmental, Commonwealth Lodging Management, and hotel policies and procedures, as well as brand standards, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of the English language and communication skills both written and verbal.
• Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
