Job summary

Spring-Hill-Suite in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Rooms Inspector to assist the Executive Housekeeper in keeping the rooms, corridors and public areas clean and well maintained. The role covers all floors and requires ability to handle guests and staff with poise and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to read, write and perform basic math, and be unquestionably honest and dependable. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional push/pull up to 200 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed guest rooms for cleanliness and rental status.
• Complete a daily report indicating cleanliness, rental status, and required maintenance for assigned rooms.
• Assumes duties of Executive Housekeeper in their absence.
• If needed, will also clean rooms or assist as required for the day.

Responsible for all floors assigned. See that the room attendants have the proper and necessary equipment and supplies. Must have ability to deal with guests and personnel with poise, problem solving, reasoning, and training abilities. Reading, writing, mathematical abilities, including basic math. Must be unquestionably honest and dependable. Physical requirements include: standing, walking, lifting and carrying, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, bending and able to walk stairs. Carrying and/or lifting approximately 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 200 pounds occurs infrequently.Duties to include, but not limited to:Inspect completed guest rooms for cleanliness and rental status.Complete a daily report that indicates the cleanliness, rental status, and required maintenance work for his/her assigned rooms.Assumes duties of Executive Housekeeper/Assistant Executive Housekeeper in their absence.If needed will also clean rooms, inspect or whatever role is necessary for the day.This is a working position and hours must be flexible to meet the demands of the business.
