Job summary

Desoto Health is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with federal and state guidelines. You will perform day-to-day housekeeping tasks, restock supplies, and report hazards to the supervisor while ensuring infection control practices are followed.

The role requires attention to cleanliness, safety and confidentiality, with duties covering patient areas, bathrooms, hallways, and common offices.

Qualifications

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping tasks as assigned.
• Follow current Federal and State guidelines governing facility cleanliness and safety.
• Assure that assigned work areas are clean, safe, comfortable and attractive.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Maintain infection control practices.
• Clean, wash, and sanitize bathroom fixtures including mirrors.
• Replenish toilet tissue, liquid soap and gloves.
• Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing.
• Ensure caution/safety signs are properly set up while performing duties.
• Clean hallways, nurse's station, stairways, offices, etc.
• Inspect for rings, hearing aids, dentures, etc. when discarding trash into proper containers.
• Report hazardous conditions or equipment to Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance.
• Restock housekeeping cart at end of shift and inform supervisor of supply needs.

It is to be assured that out facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.Perform the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.Perform assigned tasks in accordance with housekeeping procedures.Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.Follow safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.Assure that infection control practices are maintained.Clean, wash, and sanitize bathroom fixtures including mirrors.Replenish toilet tissue, liquid soap and gloves.Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, etc. Assure that caution/safety signs are properly set up whileperforming such duties.Clean hallways, nurse's station, stairways, offices, etc.Inspects for rings, hearing aids, dentures, etc. when discarding trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liners.Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to Housekeeping Supervisor or to Maintenance.Clean and restock housekeeping cart at the end of shift.Inform supervisor of supply needs.Follow Universal Precautions as deemed necessary.Follow fire and safety policies and procedures.Maintain the confidentiality of residents.Honor the resident’s personal property.Attend departmental and required staff meetings.Perform terminal/isolation cleaning procedures, when a resident is discharged, and/or transferred to another room.Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
