Job summary

Erickson Senior Living is seeking a Housekeeping Utility Worker at Fox Run Village in Novi, Michigan. You will maintain cleanliness across the campus, set up rooms for events, and assist with moving heavy objects while staying on site.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service, with a compensation benchmark of up to $18.50 per hour and standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to safely operate carpet care and floor care equipment, trash removal equipment, and related tools.
• Michigan chauffeur's license required; candidates without one may apply and obtain within 90 days after hire.
• Must hold a current and valid D.O.T. Physical/Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hard floor surfaces through scrubbing, mopping, burnishing, stripping, buffing and waxing.
• Maintain carpeted areas through extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying and vacuuming.
• Clean vertical surfaces such as doors, walls, or windows.
• Remove trash and recyclables per procedures.
• Move furniture within common spaces and residential apartments as needed.
• Deliver residents’ items to storage, vehicles, or other areas.
• Operate housekeeping equipment/vehicles safely.

Location: Fox Run Village by Erickson Senior Living

In this role, you will maintain community cleanliness using specialized equipment, clean building areas, floors, and surfaces, set up rooms for events, handle trash removal, and assist with moving heavy objects—all while enjoying the convenience of staying on campus.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Maintain hard floor surfaces, including scrubbing, mopping, burnishing, stripping, buffing and waxing
• Maintain carpeted surfaces, including extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, vacuuming
• Clean vertical surfaces such as doors, walls, or windows.
• Remove trash including refuse and recycling by following procedures utilizing compactors, trucks, and carts
• Move and arrange furniture in the community common spaces and offices, as well as in residential apartments
• Deliver residents items to and from storage, vehicles, apartments or other areas.
• Operate housekeeping equipment/vehicles in a safe manner.

What You Will Need

• Current and valid driver’s license
• Ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment, and any other equipment necessary for the cleanliness of the community
• Previous experience in carpet care and floor finishing techniques preferred
• A Michigan chauffeur's license is required for this position. However, candidates who do not currently hold a chauffeur's license may still be considered and will have up to 90 days after hire to obtain one.
• Must have a current and valid D.O.T. Physical/Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. One weekend per month and some holidays are required.
