Job summary

Fox Run Village by Erickson Senior Living in Novi, Michigan, is seeking a Housekeeping Utility Worker to maintain community cleanliness, set up rooms for events, handle trash removal, and assist with moving heavy objects on campus.

Compensation: Up to $18.50 per hour with benefits, on-site medical centers, 401k plan, PTO and volunteer hours, meal discounts, and growth opportunities as the community expands.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid driver's license.
• Ability to safely operate carpet/hard floor care equipment.
• Experience in carpet care and floor finishing preferred.
• Michigan chauffeur’s license required, with up to 90 days to obtain if not held.
• Must have a current and valid D.O.T. Physical/Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; one weekend per month and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hard floor surfaces via scrubbing, mopping, burnishing, stripping, buffing and waxing.
• Maintain carpeted surfaces via extraction, drying, vacuuming.
• Clean doors, walls, and windows.
• Remove trash using condensers, trucks, and carts.
• Move and arrange furniture in common spaces and apartments.
• Deliver residents’ items to storage, vehicles, apartments or other areas.
• Operate housekeeping equipment/vehicles safely.

In this role, you will maintain community cleanliness using specialized equipment, clean building areas, floors, and surfaces, set up rooms for events, handle trash removal, and assist with moving heavy objects—all while enjoying the convenience of staying on campus.

How you will make an impact

• Maintain hard floor surfaces, including scrubbing, mopping, burnishing, stripping, buffing and waxing
• Maintain carpeted surfaces, including extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, vacuuming
• Clean vertical surfaces such as doors, walls, or windows.
• Remove trash including refuse and recycling by following procedures utilizing compactors, trucks, and carts
• Move and arrange furniture in the community common spaces and offices, as well as in residential apartments
• Deliver residents items to and from storage, vehicles, apartments or other areas.
• Operate housekeeping equipment/vehicles in a safe manner.

What you will need

• Current and valid driver’s license
• Ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment, and any other equipment necessary for the cleanliness of the community
• Previous experience in carpet care and floor finishing techniques preferred
• A Michigan chauffeur’s license is required for this position. However, candidates who do not currently hold a chauffeur’s license may still be considered and will have up to 90 days after hire to obtain one.
• Must have acurrent and valid D.O.T. Physical/Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. One weekend per month and some holidays are required.
