Job summary

Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa in Asheville, NC, seeks a dedicated housekeeper to keep assigned areas clean and sanitized, upholding Omni Standards of service. You will perform floor care, dusting, cleaning restrooms, restocking supplies, and support guest comfort.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the duration of shifts. This role contributes to a welcoming, pristine hotel experience for guests and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment and chemicals as described (floors, surfaces, restrooms).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout shift.
• Experience in hotel housekeeping or similar environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Floor care including waxing and stripping.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Dust and wash furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; clean ceilings, dust and polish fixtures.
• Wash and replace blinds; clean and polish windows and mirrors as needed.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment to clean areas.
• Remove stains from surfaces using cleaners
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Vacuum carpets and apply spot cleaning treatments.
• Empty trash in garages and common areas.
• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures; service restrooms.
• Periodically clean vents and blinds; maintain janitor's closet.

To ensure that assigned housekeeping floor areas are kept clean and always sanitized. Also, services assigned public areas and Associate areas to meet the expectations of the Omni Standards.

Responsibilities

• Floor care including waxing and stripping
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Dusts and washes furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings, dusts, and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds.
• Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
• Gathers and empties trash in garages.
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
• Periodically cleans overhead vents, dusts blinds, and polishes wood furniture.
• Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Must keep janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
• May be expected to make basic repairs.
• Weekly cleaning of garage.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use the cleaning equipment/chemicals including but not limited to Floor Scrubbers, Vacuums, Blowers, Degreaser, Multi-Purpose, Enzymes, etc.
• Must be able to operate all cleaning equipment and machinery.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull.
• Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
