Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego is seeking a full-time hospital housekeeping professional for the Mercy Campus in Hillcrest. This role requires a day shift (6:00am-2:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm) with a varied schedule including weekends and 64 hours every two weeks.

You will support environmental care by cleaning both patient care areas and non-patient areas, handling linen, waste, sharps disposal, and meeting/event setup while adhering to Joint Commission standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient care areas and non-patient care areas.
• Handle linen service, waste removal, and sharps container disposal.
• Assist with meeting/event setup and breakdown; ensure infection control and sanitation practices.

The housekeeping team performs job functions to support environmental care: (patient care area cleaning, non-patient care area cleaning, linen service, waste removal, sharps container removal, meeting/event set-up/breakdown, and infection control/sanitation utilizing technical, interpersonal and critical thinking skills under the guidance and support of a supervisor. Follows established policies and practices to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, Title XXII and other applicable regulatory requirements.
