Job summary

Loews Kansas City Hotel is seeking a proactive Dispatcher for the housekeeping team. You will serve as the communication hub, dispatching tasks, updating room statuses, and coordinating with Front Desk to ensure rooms are ready for check-in.

You will maintain logs, handle inquiries, and support guest satisfaction through accurate information and professional interaction. The role requires clear communication, detail orientation, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, with duties spanning

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a cleaning role preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel or resort environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and radio communications between housekeeping and other departments.
  • Dispatch tasks and requests to team members and update room statuses.
  • Track and update room statuses and inform Front Office of readiness for check‑in.
  • Coordinate with Front Desk to ensure rooms are ready for guest arrival.
  • Perform administrative duties and maintain smooth department communication.
  • Attend departmental meetings and provide coverage in related areas when necessary.
  • Be familiar with hotel facilities and assist guests with accurate information.
  • Maintain professional and friendly guest relations and ensure satisfaction.

What You’ll Do
  • Answer phones and radio communications to facilitate clear and timely communication between housekeeping and other departments.
  • Dispatch tasks and requests to appropriate team members, ensuring guest needs and room statuses are addressed promptly.
  • Track and update room status, maintaining accurate logs to inform the Front Office and other departments.
  • Monitor room assignments throughout the day and coordinate with the Front Desk to ensure rooms are ready for check‑in.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, reconciling daily reports, and maintaining smooth communication within the department.
  • Attend departmental meetings and provide coverage in related areas when necessary.
  • Be familiar with hotel facilities and assist guests with accurate information.
  • Maintain professional and friendly guest relations, offering assistance and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Follow OSHA safety protocols and department procedures regarding emergencies, chemical use, and safe work practices.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications Include
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a cleaning role preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel or resort environment preferred.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk throughout shift.
  • Excellent communication skills.
