Pearl Healthcare in Joliet, IL is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to lead a team of housekeeping professionals and support the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping/laundry department.

The role requires at least 1 year of housekeeping experience, clear English communication, and the ability to follow written and oral cleaning instructions. You will collaborate with HR and administration to hire, train, and schedule staff while maintaining a clean, safe facility.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supports the housekeeping/laundry staff.
• Partners with HR and Administrator in hiring, training, onboarding/offboarding & managing staff relations.
• Coordinates the cleaning/laundry schedule for department staff.
• Assists day-to-day cleaning of offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Supports dusting, washing, and disinfecting of fixtures, floors and walls.
• Assists cleaning of curtains, drapes, and furniture to maintain a neat environment.
• Works with maintenance to oversee cleaning of patient areas and service spaces.

Description:

The primary purpose of the Housekeeping Assistant is to supporting the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping/Laundry Department.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the housekeeping/laundry staff.
• Partners with HR and Administrator in hiring, training, onboarding/offboarding & managing employee relations of department staff.
• Coordinates the cleaning/laundry schedule for department staff.
• Assists the housekeeping department in the day-to-day cleaning of offices, handicap, visitor restrooms, activity rooms, kitchen, restrooms, service entrances, therapy rooms, facility entrances and exits, utility areas, closets, lounges, lobbies, halls etc.
• Supports the dusting, washing, and disinfecting of all fixtures, floors and walls, doors and ceilings,
• Assists the scouring and polishing of water fountains, sinks, mirrors, glass panels in doors and partitions, brass, and movable stationary furnishings and fixtures.
• Supports changing of slipcovers, scarves, doilies, etc. when soiled and arrangement of furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Assists cleaning of ledges, shelves, vents, windows, windowsills, etc.
• Ensures removal and rehanging of curtains, drapes, and dividers for cleaning, when needed.
• Works jointly with maintenance staff to oversee cleaning of service floors, all patient rooms, baths, lounges, nurse stations, and offices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 Years experience in Housekeeping (Required)
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
