Qualifications

• Education and Experience: six months in custodial work or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform duties involving cleaning of state facilities and supervising staff as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, mops, scrubs, washes, vacuums, waxes, and polishes floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware.
• Cleans and sanitizes laboratories, washrooms, and bedrooms; ensures washrooms stocked with paper, towels, and soap.
• Collects and disposes of trash; moves equipment and furniture.
• Performs sanitary inspections for infection control.
• Replaces and handles medically contaminated sharps and soiled supplies.
• Orders and distributes custodial supplies; maintains inventory.
• Observes safety violations; participates in emergencies.
• Trains and oversees lower level workers.
• Plans, assigns, and supervises cleaning functions; maintains records and budget notes.
