Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a dedicated janitorial staff member to provide clean, safe environments for animal facilities under supervision. The role emphasizes routine cleaning, floor care, waste disposal, and PPE stocking to support a clean animal care environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, trash removal, laundry support, and assisting in ARC cagewash as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent.
• Preferred: Previous housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, and surfaces.
• Trash removal and waste disposal.
• Stock PPE stations and cleaning supplies.
• Floor maintenance and machine operation for buffing and cleaning.
• Perform laundry and handle waste in designated bags.
• Assist in ARC cagewash area as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES

• General cleaning of all areas of ARC facilities. Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust-mops floors. Wet-mops/ vacuums rooms, halls, stairways and public areas.
• Cleaning break areas and bathrooms. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms
• Trash removal. Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials
• Stocking supplies and PPE stations.
• Floor maintenance - includes running floor machines/buffers.
• Performs laundry service. Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specific bags or containers
• Polishing stainless steel equipment.
• Emptying carcasses freezer/refrigerators.
• Assist in ARC cagewash area when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
