Job summary

Waverly Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Waverly, VA, is hiring a Housekeeping Aide for weekend shifts. The role involves maintaining environmental cleanliness and infection control standards within the facility to provide superior resident care.

The Housekeeper will perform general cleaning tasks, sanitize rooms and common areas, and ensure safety and comfort for Residents in a supportive, team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes resident rooms, offices, hallways, and other areas inside the facility.
• Cleans vents, fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes and other high areas as needed.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
• Maintains infection control and safety precautions at all times.
• Reports hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to supervisor.
• Maintains resident comfort and dignity and interacts professionally with residents and staff.
• Responds promptly to call lights and adheres to department policies.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Summary/Objective

In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Housekeeper plays a critical role in providing superior customer service and housekeeping services to all Residents in the facility. The Housekeeper is responsible maintaining environmental and infection control standards by performing a variety of general cleaning tasks.

Essential Functions

• Cleans and sanitizes Resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside the facility as well as outside and the entire property.
• Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of Resident rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolations procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
• Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents/residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Resident care areas.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Required Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education And Experience

• One year experience in a housekeeping role.
