Job summary

Campbell Street, Osage, IA, is seeking a housekeeping assistant to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. Responsibilities include laundering, cleaning resident rooms and common areas, and delivering clean clothing and linens to rooms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of resident rooms, dining areas, common areas and restrooms.
• Sort, launder, load, operate washers and dryers, fold and sort clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean clothing and linens to Residents’ rooms.
• Perform light office cleaning and maintain hallways and entry ways.
• Handle trash disposal and assist with daily housekeeping duties as assigned.

Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:Sorts items to be laundered.Loads articles into washer and engages washing machine.Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and place them into laundry carts, then into dryers.Starts dryers for measured time cycles.Folds and sort dried articles by Resident name, ID number or Room Number.Places Resident clothing on clothes hangers.Folds and places items in appropriate storage bin or sorter. Delivers clean clothing to Residents’ rooms.Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities of linens, towels, washcloths, clothing protectors, etc.Soaks contaminated articles in neutralizer solution to precondition articles for washing.Cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms, dining areas, common areas, and public restrooms.Light office cleaning.
