This position is located within Environmental Management Services (EMS) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Louisville Medical Center. The position is responsible for supporting and performing tasks (e.g., environment of care, textile distribution, and training) aligned with EMS goals and objectives. Tours of duty may vary depending on departmental needs, including weekdays, weekends, day, and evening shifts.

Experience: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must demonstrate evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality to perform the duties of this position. Details of such experience must be supported by your resume, including job title, duties, start/end dates, and hours worked per week. Applicants will be rated according to the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
Note: Experience must be fully documented on your resume. Vague descriptions like "housekeeper" are insufficient. Clearly specify your duties, responsibilities, and hours per week.
Applicants with at least the minimum qualifications are considered for further rating. Those without are rated ineligible. The rating will consider the following Job Elements:
Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer work, and service programs such as Peace Corps or AmeriCorps. Volunteer work can provide valuable skills and will be credited.
Work is performed in various areas, including operating rooms, treatment rooms, examination rooms, imaging rooms, wards, and administrative areas, with adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Some outdoor work exposes employees to heat, cold, and weather conditions. There may be exposure to cleaning solutions, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. PPE may be required, especially when working with contagious materials. Caution is necessary to prevent injuries from ladders, heavy equipment, or hazardous materials.
Note: A full year of work is considered 35-40 hours per week. Part-time experience is credited proportionally. Clearly indicate duties, responsibilities, and hours worked per week in each position on your resume.
