Job summary

The Lodge of Northbrook in Northbrook, IL is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Associate to perform housekeeping and laundry tasks across the community. The role starts at $17.50/hour and offers 20–25 hours per week.

You will maintain cleanliness in lobbies, lounges, dining areas, restrooms, and guest suites, while following infection-prevention practices and safety guidelines. The position requires 3–6 months of related experience and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Three to six months of housekeeping, janitorial, hospitality, healthcare, senior living, or related experience.
• Experience in a senior living or healthcare setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Uphold community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization.
• Perform daily housekeeping in common areas and guest spaces.
• Clean and maintain guest suites and designated rooms.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, sanitize, and manage trash.
• Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens.
• Follow all policies, safety guidelines, and infection-prevention practices.

The Lodge of Northbrook is recruiting for a hospitality focused Housekeeping Associate to join our team! This position is responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry functions throughout the community.

Starting Pay: $17.50/hour

Hours: Part-time 20-25 hours/week

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Housekeeper:

Consistently uphold Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and organization.

Perform daily housekeeping duties throughout common areas, including lobbies, hallways, lounges, dining areas, restrooms, activity spaces, offices, and other designated areas.

Clean and maintain guest suites and other designated rooms as needed.

Perform routine dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and trash removal.

Perform laundry functions, including collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and other designated items.

Follow all Community policies, procedures, safety guidelines, and infection-prevention practices.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred/required.

Three to six months of experience in housekeeping, janitorial, hospitality, healthcare, senior living, or a related environment preferred.

Previous experience working in a senior living or healthcare setting is a plus.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing housekeeping duties throughout the community.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and squat while cleaning and performing duties.
• Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping carts, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
• Ability to safely navigate stairs and uneven surfaces as needed.
• Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate exposure to cleaning products and odors.
