John McClure Snook Family YMCA in Foley, AL is seeking a part-time Facilities Cleaner to join our team. You will perform cleaning, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and related duties to keep the facility attractive and safe.

This role requires ability to use cleaning equipment, read instructions, and report maintenance issues. Prior related experience is preferred and flexibility for events may be required.

Qualifications

  • Six months or more of related cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
  • Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize assigned areas including mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
  • Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  • Record and report needed repairs; repairs as directed.
  • Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report hazards.
  • Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
  • May set up furniture for events.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, Including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. 1. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule andmaintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care, and general cleaning.
  2. 2. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  3. 3. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
  4. 4. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  5. 5. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
  6. 6. May set up furniture for events.
Abuse Risk Management language:

Employees and volunteers who directly supervise consumers will:

  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend required abuse risk management training.
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follow mandatory abuse reporting requirements.

Employees and volunteers who do not directly supervise consumers will:

  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend required abuse risk management training.
  • Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follow mandatory abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adhere job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
  • Maintenance employees and volunteers—ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high‑risk locations (locker‑rooms and bathrooms), etc.
  • Front desk personnel—ensure consumers are properly signed in and signed out,ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.
