Job summary

Indus Hotel Corp in Grove City, OH is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to clean and sanitize guest rooms in line with hotel standards. You will replenish supplies, inspect rooms for readiness, report damages, and assist guests and staff while maintaining a neat, safe workspace.

Requirements include a high school diploma; prior housekeeping or hotel experience preferred; ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school education required; prior housekeeping/hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of operating laundry room dryers and washers desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk.
• Dust and clean furnishings in guest rooms and maintain cleanliness of cleaning equipment and cart.
• Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of guest requests and maintain personal cleanliness.
• Wear uniform and nametag, follow all hotel policies and emergency procedures.

What to expect as a Housekeeper:

• Have a good understanding of all of hotels operating procedures;
• Be knowledgeable of rooms types and standards for supplies;
• Check the general condition of the room and notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of any malfunction or damage;
• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk all in accordance with hotel's training and standards;
• Dust and clean all furnishings in guest room including the television, desk, desk chair, desk lamp/shade, air conditioner unit, head boards, night stand, wall picture, wall lamp/shade and window ledge;
• Maintain cleaning supplies and the cleaning cart in safe, organized and presentable fashion;
• Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of all guest requests;
• Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates;
• Organization and thoroughness: preparing bedrooms in the specified length of time whilst respecting internal hotel procedures;
• No service rooms must be approved by inspector or front desk;
• Must wear uniform and nametag;
• Must follow all policies and emergency procedures of the hotel;
• Discretion: not disturbing guests
• Laundry and public area cleaning.
• Must maintain personal cleanliness.
• Willing to work flexible hours.

• Deep clean when assigned.
• Other Duties and Responsibilities as may be designated.

Qualifications:

• Education/Experience: Minimumhigh school. Prior housekeeping/hotel experience preferred.

  Equipment/Computer Expertise: Prior knowledge of operating laundry room dryers and washers desired but not required.

  Physical Demands in Housekeeping:

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop and reach upwards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Must tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
    Work Environment: Interacting with co-workers, customers, working with cleaning chemicals and vacuum cleaners/brooms.
