Job summary

Hampton Inn and Suites Columbus Airport in Columbus, OH is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Housekeeper. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, restocking amenities, and ensuring rooms meet the hotel’s standards for sale.

Training and guidance are provided to maintain high service levels. You will work in a busy front-line environment, performing duties with integrity while promoting guest satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma; prior housekeeping/hotel experience preferred.
• Equipment/Computer Expertise: Laundry room dryers and washers knowledge desired but not required.
• Physical Demands: Lift up to 40 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and tolerate temperature changes.

Responsibilities

• Have a good understanding of hotel operating procedures.
• Be knowledgeable of room types and standards for supplies.
• Check the general condition of the room and notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of any malfunction or damage.
• Clean and sanitize guest rooms, replenish supplies and amenities, inspect and report rooms ready for sale to the front desk.
• Dust and clean all furnishings in guest room including the television, desk, chair, lamp, air conditioner unit, headboard, nightstand and window ledge.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and the cleaning cart in safe, organized and presentable fashion.
• Ensure prompt and systematic servicing of all guest requests.
• Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates.
• Organize and thoroughness: prepare bedrooms in the specified length of time while respecting internal hotel procedures.
• No service rooms must be approved by inspector or front desk.
• Must wear uniform and nametag; follow all policies and emergency procedures.
• Discretion: not disturbing guests.
• Laundry and public area cleaning.
• Must maintain personal cleanliness.
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Must embrace the Mission, Values, and Vision of the company.
• Deep clean when assigned.
• Other Duties and Responsibilities as may be designated.

What to expect as a Housekeeper:

• Have a good understanding of all of hotels operating procedures;
• Be knowledgeable of rooms types and standards for supplies;

  Physical Demands in Housekeeping:

  • Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop and reach upwards.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Must tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
    Work Environment: Interacting with co-workers, customers, working with cleaning chemicals and vacuum cleaners/brooms.
