Job summary

HYATT House San Jose/Silicon Valley is seeking a Room Attendant to maintain clean and welcoming guest rooms and public areas. You will clean, restock and tidy rooms daily, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety while supporting quick turnover for arrivals and occupancy needs.

The role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend and lift moderately; a focus on detail and guest service is essential. This is an hourly position with opportunities for benefits and career growth within Hyatt

Qualifications

• Prior hotel housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods; lift, push and pull moderate weight.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms daily (beds, dusting, vacuuming, high-touch surfaces).
• Clean bathrooms thoroughly and replenish towels and amenities.
• Restock towels and supplies; maintain carts and storage areas.
• Provide courteous guest interactions and respond to requests as appropriate.
• Follow safety procedures and brand standards; participate in deep cleaning and other housekeeping tasks.

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms and assigned areas to Hyatt standards. This role helps create a welcoming guest experience by maintaining exceptional cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail, while working efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment.

Guestroom Cleaning & Presentation

• Clean and service guest rooms daily, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms thoroughly (toilets, showers/tubs, sinks, mirrors) and replenish towels, toiletries, and amenities.
• Replace linens and terry according to standards and turn rooms promptly to support arrivals and occupancy needs.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness, maintenance concerns, or missing/damaged items; report issues promptly.

Restocking & Organization

• Stock housekeeping carts with linens, amenities, and supplies; maintain par levels.
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and according to guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets and storage areas.

Guest Service & Communication

• Provide courteous, professional interactions with guests and respond to requests when appropriate.
• Follow “do not disturb” procedures and respect guest privacy at all times.
• Communicate room status updates accurately and in a timely manner per hotel process.

Safety & Standards

• Follow proper lifting techniques and safety procedures, including use of PPE as required.
• Adhere to all hotel policies, sanitation standards, and brand expectations.
• Support deep cleaning projects and help with other housekeeping tasks as needed (e.g., public areas, laundry support).

This is an hourly position with a compensation starting at $19 per hour.
