Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Daily responsibilities include the cleaning of areas within assignment such as entryways, entry lounges, restrooms, stairwells, hallways, floor lounges, study rooms, laundry areas, student suite (bathrooms), student suite (vacuuming suite living room) and detail projects within residential areas as assigned. During the summer months, daily assignment and buildings worked in change frequently as the need arises.
• Daily communication with housekeeping supervisor is crucial to relay any issues concerning an assignment, student related concern, a building or furniture issue or the need for supplies and equipment.
• Report all maintenance issues that are observed within the resident areas by calling the Residential Life Center or Facilities customer service; report any suspicious person to Campus Police; follow the rules and regulations of WashU in St. Louis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Job Location/Working Conditions: Will be working in scattered site ‘off-campus’ buildings. Occasional seasonal weekend shifts may be required.

Physical Effort

• Frequently bends, kneels and squats throughout the day.
• Requires candidates to be on their feet most of the day.
• Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. to waist level.

Equipment

• Some exposure to dust/allergens, and use of various cleaning agents/chemicals.

Salary Range

$15.25 - $20.77 / Hourly. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
