Job summary

St Elizabeth Rehab & Nursing, a Vierra Communities property, seeks a diligent floor technician to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. You will operate floor care machinery, perform general cleaning tasks, and ensure high standards of sanitation in accordance with infection control procedures.

The role requires adherence to safety guidelines, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Prior floor technician experience and use of Floor Machinery.
• Housekeeping/janitorial work experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safe chemical handling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Basic digital literacy for timekeeping and HR apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform stripping & waxing of floor surfaces using heavy machinery.
• Conduct general cleaning duties: laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, empty trash.
• Maintain cleanliness in lobbies, hallways and lounges.
• Disinfect surfaces, fixtures and appliances per standards.
• Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
• Collaborate with team on larger cleaning projects like deep cleaning carpets or windows.
• Address housekeeping issues or complaints promptly and courteously.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment.
• Adhere to company policies at all times.

Job Summary

Ensures the provision of a clean environment for our residents and staff, providing high-quality services and high standards of cleanliness, ensuring compliance with infection control procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience as a floor technician and use of heavy machinery.
• Prior housekeeping/laundry or janitorial work is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment including Floor Machinery
• Familiarity with safety procedures and guidelines for handling cleaning chemicals
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina to carry out cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Must have basic digital literacy, including the ability to download and navigate smartphone applications used for timekeeping and HR tasks.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, and lounges
• Clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with established standards
• Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed
• Collaborate with team members to complete larger cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning carpets or windows
• Respond to and resolve any housekeeping issues or complaints promptly and courteously
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
