Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This role is essential to ensuring our facility remains welcoming, sanitary, and compliant with healthcare standards.

Essential Duties

• Clean and maintain public and common areas, including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors


• Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly


• Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris


• Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers


• Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed


• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility


• Follow safety protocols, including the use of caution signage and proper chemical storage


• Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions


• Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary


• Report resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing


• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment


• Demonstrate excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude


• Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently


• Work independently and as part of a team to meet facility cleanliness standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long‑term care setting is a plus


• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines


• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness


• Good communication and interpersonal skills
