Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is Missouri's largest hospital and one of the nation's top hospitals according to U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Extended Care, part of the hospital's continuum of care, is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located at 401 Corporate Park Drive, Clayton, Missouri. Under the hospital's medical staff, it offers services from minimal assistance to post-hospital recovery, serving a diverse patient population including post-trauma, hospice, and respite care patients. The Housekeeping Department ensures a clean and safe environment for patients and residents.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, following procedures outlined by the hospital or service organization. In the supervisor's absence, assumes supervisory responsibilities along with regular duties.

Responsibilities

1. Performs discharge cleaning in inpatient rooms and prepares rooms for new admissions.
2. Performs routine cleaning in inpatient, public, and common areas using established procedures.
3. Assumes supervisor responsibilities in their absence.
4. Keeps equipment clean and functional, reporting any defects.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• No experience required; supervisor experience preferred

Preferred Requirements

• Associate's Degree

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience

Supervisor Experience

• Less than 2 years
