Job summary

Summerset Richmond village is looking for a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to help create a clean, homelike environment for residents. The role is casual with shifts offered on an as-needed basis, at Summerset's Richmond village.

You will launder, fold and return residents’ clothing with care, support cleaning across facilities, and assist with infection control. No experience is necessary—full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, ideally in healthcare or hospitality.
• Take pride in your work and care about the small details.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet.
• Genuine interest in aged care; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labeling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

Job Description:

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Richmond village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.

As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
• Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
• Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
• Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
• Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs

This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as needed basis.
