Assistant Housekeeper

Location: Richmond Villages Wood Norton, Evesham Road, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 4TY

Pay: £12.40 per hour – Paid breaks

Shift Availability: Early shifts from 07:00 with notice and extra hours for holiday and sickness cover as required.

Our housekeeper is the unsung hero of our award‑winning retirement village. With a flair for perfection and a sprinkle of care, they keep our community sparkling and residents beaming with pride.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the care home facilities, public areas and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards.
• Operate vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers.
• Empty bins regularly.
• Sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors.
• Clean carpets and upholstery; wash woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.
• Wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, bedding and communal laundry, including for the on‑site care home residents.
• Report all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health & Safety standards and COSHH are adhered to at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

You will ideally have experience in housekeeping or domestic cleaning, basic knowledge of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards. You should be friendly and approachable, forging lasting professional relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families. Attention to detail, pride in work, strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
