Job summary

Allure in Sterling, IL is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry to maintain our resident living and common areas in a clean, safe, and comfortable condition, in line with federal, state, and local regulations. Shifts run 5:00–13:00, 6:00–14:00, or 13:00–21:00, with responsibilities including following cleaning schedules, coordinating with nursing staff, cleaning fixtures and floors, and handling laundry.

Must be able to read, write, and understand English; follow instructions; and work

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, etc.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel and residents.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning schedules and work/cleaning plans as closely as practical.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping and laundry with nursing services when cleaning resident areas.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish fixtures, rooms, and appliances.
• Clean floors (sweeping, mopping, buffing) and manage waste disposal.
• Handle dirty linens and resident clothing; return cleaned items to residents.
• Use PPE and follow safety precautions when handling chemicals.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents' health information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
