We're hiring a PRN Housekeeper / Laundry Aide for our skilled nursing facility.

Shift: Sunday - Sunday, 3pm - 10pm

Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, facility policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations from federal, state, and accrediting agencies.
2. File complaints or grievances with your supervisor.
3. Follow fire safety policies and procedures.
4. Use safety equipment (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts) when lifting or moving heavy objects (objects may exceed 30 pounds).
5. Maintain a hazard-free work environment.
6. Follow proper chemical handling procedures, referring to MSDSs as needed.
7. Use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling infectious materials.
8. Dispose of waste daily following sanitation procedures.
9. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry department.
10. Ensure adequate laundry supplies are available daily.
11. Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift.
12. Collect, sort, weigh, and wash soiled laundry, linen, and garments, handling items that may exceed 30 pounds.
13. Sort laundry for stain removal/treatment as needed.
14. Press and iron garments as instructed.
15. Distribute clean laundry to residents, ensuring proper handling.
16. Transport laundry using carts, including pushing carts that may exceed 30 pounds.
17. Clean floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, using proper safety signs and cleaning solutions.
18. Remove dirt, dust, grease, and other residues from surfaces and equipment.
19. Discard waste into proper containers and replace liners.

Resident Rights and Safety:

• Respect residents' rights to fair treatment, privacy, and self-determination.
• Knock before entering resident rooms.

Additional Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment.

Additional Laundry and Housekeeping Tasks:

• Perform daily housekeeping and laundry functions as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of furnishings, fixtures, and resident areas.
• Ensure work areas and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Follow infection control procedures, including isolation cleaning and waste disposal.
• Perform extended standing up to 8 hours and handle laundry items exceeding 30 pounds.
