Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Housekeeper for the 2nd shift at the Main Campus. The role entails terminal cleaning of patient rooms after discharge and maintaining cleaning across units, offices, labs, and common areas.

Shift runs 3:00PM–11:30PM with rotating weekends and holidays; total hours per week are 40. Training on chemical safety and proper usage will be provided to ensure a clean, safe hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Terminal cleaning of rooms after patients are discharged.
• Clean nursing units, surgical areas, offices, labs, waiting areas and public restrooms.
• Make beds, empty trash, wipe equipment, clean furniture, polish floors, vacuum carpets, restrooms, launder hospital linen, daily equipment inventory.

Job Details
The Housekeeper performs terminal cleaning of rooms after patients are discharged. The Housekeeper also cleans nursing units, surgical areas, offices, labs, waiting areas and public restrooms. Job duties may include making beds, emptying trash, wiping equipment, cleaning furniture, polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning restrooms, laundering hospital linen, daily inspection and inventory of housekeeping equipment and other assorted duties.
The Housekeeper receives training about the cleaning chemicals that are used and will demonstrate competency in the proper usage, disposal and safety measures required to ensure a clean and safe hospital environment.
